Wild foods, David Wolfe, journaling with friends, and injured knee...

So much has gone on in the past month that I've hardly had time to think!! I've been learning about superfoods, superherbs, raw foods, wild foods, foraging... It's been interesting and fun.

Best part so far? Meeting, listening to, and talking to none other than David Wolfe! What an amazing couple of days I've had recently. The last two evenings I've spent at workshops, one where David headlined and the other where he was the only speaker. He's amazing. I feel honoured to have been able to meet him; talk to him; and lastly, have my picture taken with him!  

I've been having a good time on my lunch breaks and really, any time I'm outside, finding wild plants that are either eye catching or could have the possibility of being identified as a wild edible. I'm still learning so I haven't picked anything yet but I WILL learn more until I'm comfortable picking and using. For now, enjoy a few of the pics I've recently taken.

Between all this craziness, I've actually found a little time to craft, surprisingly. Not a lot of time but I did make a point of spending one afternoon with Lizzie from Lizzie's Workshop and this is what I accomplished that afternoon:

Yes, in the midst of all this craziness, let's add something more... I've injured my knee. Who knows how, who knows when... all I know is this is how swollen it was:

My girls took turns trying to help me though... how adorable!

And finally, one of my first harvests from my garden: Kale, beet leaves, swiss chard, and a couple of zucchini flowers. Gorgeous:

Weekend of fun...

Another fantastic weekend of fun with Chelsey's Creative Events Scrapbooking. Another full weekend of friends, fun, art journaling, canvas making, recipe book making, class designing, and teaching hand lettering. Here are a couple of sneak peeks at what went on this weekend:

Friday night began with my Hand Lettering class. Here are some examples of my students' work:

I also worked on designing a mixed media class but for some reason the photos of it won't load right now. I'll post them later when I can get them to work.

Crafting weekend #2...

I had the most amazing time this weekend at Chelsey's Creative Events Scrapbooking event. A full weekend, a full room of scrapbookers, card makers, and art journalers, and it's like a little piece of heaven... that disappears in what feels like merely minutes. Here's a shot before we started:

Chelsey was always is so kind and caring throughout these events. (And I'm sure in her daily personal life too, she's just one of those good people) I made this for her as a small gesture of my appreciation:

Then, smarty pants Roxanne decided she needed one so I whipped this one up in the final minutes of our weekend. (I feel like it's unfinished... I may have to give her a do-over):

Finally, I tried to work mostly on redoing my online classes I've taken over the past year. I started with Letter Love 101 and made my way to Letter Love 201:

I focused more on the lessons rather than the colouring. Now I have a ton of colouring to complete:

Remember all those stickers I had? This was finally my chance to play with a few of them without having to share... (I'm so selfish with my stickers... well, I want to be but I end up letting the girls use them before I can so this was a little bit of sticker selfishness for myself)
